Education in Transition
Why do we need new places of education?
We no longer have time to watch how curiosity, learning/joie de vivre and creativity are systematically destroyed and inequality of opportunities arises through coercion, pressure to perform and pigeonholing. We can no longer feel at the mercy of an education system built on power and control with fear taking over. A higher, faster, further, better leads us to a dead end.

This outdated and, in some areas, unhealthy education system needs a fundamental, pluralistic redesign. Schools can be rethought and redesigned. Ideas of educational landscapes, communities, free educational places and workshops... can also emerge more and more. Living spaces are needed in which self-determined education and democracy can be experienced and lived in depth from the very beginning.
The perception of people as subjects and not as objects (which needs to be shaped) is essential, as is the realization that a fulfilled life is only possible when people can live out and develop their curiosity, their individual needs, interests and potential . For their self-development, people need supportive communities in which they feel safe, seen, serious, respected, heard and accepted.
