Educational innovator, educator, founder,
"The time in the children's home was the best of my life." I heard this sentence again and again from former children of the children's home, a free and colorful children's villa in Schwabing, which I managed for almost ten years. Children go to school full of anticipation, but they usually lose this joy of learning after a short time.
Back then, over 25 years ago, my curiosity about alternative schools and educational paths was awakened.
I opened a practice for coping with school stress, travelled around the world, got to know numerous innovative educational projects and founded the Sudbury School Ammersee with a team, a pioneering project in Bavaria where young people even applied to abolish holidays. It was an educational centre where many of those who had previously come to us with various diagnoses rediscovered their love of learning and found their way back to themselves. Today, some of these young people look back and say: ‘That was the best time of my life.’
Together with my team, I bring this valuable experience, which I have gained over the years in various alternative forms of education, educational projects, innovative mainstream schools and by familiarising myself with individual educational pathways and my practical work in free, self-determined and democratic education, to this educational event in Munich and also internationally in the future.
Everything comes together and is strengthened by cooperation - for me, this is an essential basis for actively shaping change with team spirit.
